How do you feel about bath time? Do you love it? Do you hate it? I’ve had sort of a love-hate relationship with bath time over the past seven years. It had become somewhat of a nightmare with my oldest because he has this beautiful kinky-curly hair that takes a ton of work. He screams and cries when it comes time to comb through the knots & tangles! And then those early baths with our new little guy did not do much to change that perception, as he screamed bloody murder every time he came into contact with the water. Luckily we seem to have turned a corner with little Baby Guy, he’s now entered the giggly, kicky, splashy stage! But bath time always presents challenges at our house, so I’ve always got my eyes out for things that will make bath time easier.
New Bath Gadget
One of the fun perks of being a blogger is the opportunity to try out and review awesome new products! And you may have noticed that I’m also a huge lover and advocate of small businesses! So I was super excited at the opportunity to try out a super cool new bath time tool for babies and kids (not that it wouldn’t be great for adults too)! LatherMitts by LatherUp are the upgrade to bath time that you didn’t know you needed!
When I first saw these I thought they looked cool and I always love fun new gadgets, but I wasn’t really sure that they would be all that much better than our old steady washcloth. I mean seriously, the washcloth has been around forever…if it ain’t broke don’t fix it right? Well not in this case. My LatherMitts arrived in a timely fashion in comfy small business style. Now we don’t bathe Baby Guy every day because he has a skin condition, but next time that his bath rolled around that week we broke out the new LatherMitts! Yay!

Fit Like a Glove
I was happy immediately because they {no pun intended} fit me like a glove…ha! But they seriously seemed like they were made just for me! Then I got my LatherMitts wet and added a dollop of our favorite baby bath wash. This was my next happy moment…they are definitely called “Lather” Mitts for a reason! They lather up a bajillion times better than a regular washcloth! Now that I had a lovely lather going on it was time to clean up my baby!
Enter reason number three why these impressed me: my baby is the definition of a wiggle worm. He CANNOT sit still. It doesn’t matter if we’re relaxing watching a movie, playing or even falling asleep nursing…he’s always on the go, doing his baby gymnastics! So bath time has always been a challenge, but I was able to hold on to him so easily with my LatherMitts and clean him up at the same time. It’s funny, one of the selling points that their lovely creator, Sarah, pointed out was the ease with which you can clean under your baby’s neck with these. She was so right! You can really get in there with these! There is nothing more grody than the gunk you can find underneath a baby’s neck, right in those folds, if you aren’t super careful to keep it clean! Not to mention the risk of a skin infection if not tended to properly!
