“Hey, guys…”
I thought I’d like to start this post the way all of GQ’s favorite YouTubers welcome you to their videos. I don’t know why.
Anyway, I know I’ve been totally MIA lately. I apologize. Life has just totally gotten in the way of blogging.
In fact, I started this post a week and a half ago and it’s still not finished. And it’s not even long! Seriously struggling right now with time – ugh!
Real Life
Everything is fine, nothing bad happened or anything. It’s just the usual work, parenting, and taking care of all the day-to-day household stuff. Compounded by my futile attempts to put on a Pinterest worthy Christmas all while preparing for baby #3 and trying to hire, train, prepare and be 100% caught up at work in time for my extended leave.
I usually blog during lunch, on weekends, and evenings. But right now those times are being taken up by family holiday activities, preparing childcare manuals for my mom, ordering gifts online, going to see my midwife, wrapping gifts, trying to make my home smell like Christmas, etc.
I will be 38 weeks on Sunday and haven’t even begun to pack my bag yet! In fact, I haven’t even ordered everything I need to do that. For example, we don’t have her coming home outfit yet! I am praying this girl follows in her brothers’ late footsteps!
Take my advice people, DO NOT plan to have a new baby within a month or two of Christmas. Oye!
Anyway, I am fully aware that I owe you guys a November income report. Just from glancing at various numbers, I will be lucky if I broke my $300 threshold for an acceptable versus a bad month. But I haven’t even gathered everything up for my own bookkeeping yet. I know…I’m terrible!
Lucky for me, most of you are mamas too. So I think you get it and will give me a pass. That’s life, right?
I fully intend to use my leave to get caught up on blogging tasks that have been put on the back burner for far too long. Here is a list of the things I want to do on leave:
- Complete my Pinterest cleanup
- Delete + redirect super old, obsolete posts from when I was posting sales + coupons regularly
- Start and/or finish the following trainings:
- EBA
- Pitch Perfect Pro
- Adventures in SEO
- Your Uncluttered Home
- and a million more…
- Declutter + purge my home in an effort to move toward minimalism
- Complete Young Living mentorship so I can be a resource for those looking into essential oils
- Set up systems for content creation, email communication, social media scheduling, etc.
Not at all daunting, right? Ha! Am I crazy or do you think I can do it?
If this were 3 years ago, then I would feel pretty confident about it. At that time GQ was 6 years old and in school & daycare, all day and William worked full time outside of the home.
Now GQ is only gone until about 3 PM and is in just about every extracurricular activity that exists, Logan is a rambunctious 3-year-old who will be with me all day, and William has a much more flexible schedule. So I will have people coming & going and underfoot at all times. So I’m not sure how that will impact my productivity.
Any tips from those who have been there, done that?
Well, I better wrap this up and get it posted now or I will never do it. I just wanted to let you guys know that I am still here.
Overwhelmed, but still here! And I will be getting back to the grindstone sooner than later! So don’t forget about me!
Happy holidays! I hope that you have a safe, sweet, cozy time with friends + family! Love + hugs!!
